Day 2

We woke up nice and early to get right in to it and first thing we did was get a bagel and coffee which was amazing. Then we got the subway in to town and started exploring. It was very foggy but not too cold so we spent a lot of the day walking around and just looking because there is so much to look at. We decided to head to Rockefeller centre and head straight to the top of the rock. Although we spent about an hour in line to get there, we eventually got to the 70th floor where we got the best view. Then we grabbed a quick bite to eat then walked to Central Park. We decided to ride around the whole thing and stop at different spots around which was definitely the best way to do it except when you're Emily because right when we were right at the end, I must of hit something and hit the brakes in a weird way and completely went over the handlebars and crashed. I scraped a lot of skin off my hand and a couple of pretty hectic bruises all over my body. I had so many people run up to me helping me. It was so nice. One lady went around picking up all the pieces of my broken bike. Lucky we got the insurance. Once Chris was able to put the chain back on we were off again with no more falls. Took our bikes back to the bike shop then needed to get a drink immediately. Went to a dindgy old Irish pub that served beer and just wraps and burgers for dinner then headed to the chemist to get supplies then home to rest my injuries. Alarm is set early for tomorrow to explore.

Day 1 - Travelling

Woke up very early in Newcastle and got to Melbourne airport at about 7am and was able to checkin for our for our LA flight straight away even though we were expecting to be on standby and we were sitting together. Everything was going so well and so smoothly. Then we got through security which was the moment Chris realised he didn't have his camera bag with our expensive camera, Chris' asic and some cash in it. As I hung around border security lingering around, Chris ran back out 10 minutes later looking very relieved. He's going to have a fun week of me harassing him about that. We then got on our 13.5 hour flight which wasn't too bad and we got to see the Sydney to Hobart Harbour Race, had a few hours sleep and got a great view of LA on the way in. Then we had a long wait in LAX which ended up being 6 hours due to delays and had a rough flight getting in to Newark due to fog and had to take off again whilst landing. But we eventually got to Newark at about midnight on Boxing Day. It was so good showering and sleeping in a bed!
